Dale Smelcer Obituary
The memory of Dale Smelcer of Walla Walla, Washington, who passed away on March 31, 2025 at the age of 93, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Smelcer and Ruth Smelcer (Fackenthall); and his sisters, Joanne Gumlaw (Joseph) and Lois Neil (Lyle). He is survived by: his wife LaDessa Rogers; his son John Dale Smelcer; his daughter-in-law Dr. Mpho Tlali; his grandchildren, Mohale Sean, Keneoue Saoirse and Zanele Tlali; his honorary Whitman Friendship; and his son Raj Patra (Kelly). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Pioneer United Methodist Church (209 E Birch St, Walla Walla, WA 99362).
The family suggests memorials may be made to the Blue Mountain Land Trust, Kooskooskie Commons, or the University of Idaho Arboretum.
