He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Dufner and Teresa Dufner (Volk); his wife Patricia Anne O'Hare; his siblings, Margaret, Mary Louise, Jerome and Andrew (Andy Dufner SJ); and his son Robert Joseph.

He is survived by: his children, Diane Sanders, Susan Dufner (Robert Koons) and Daniel; his sister Joan Breidenbach of Missoula, MT; and his grandchildren, Danielle Sanders, Niki Madunich (Nick), Caitlin Sanders, Anne Ray Dufner and Miles Koons. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's School in Wenatchee.
