She was predeceased by: her parents, Francisco and Manuela; and her sisters, Carmen and Gloria Cortez. She is survived by: her children, Cruz Leyva (Christy), Melissa Strigen (Peter) and Victor Leyva; her siblings, Rudy Cortez, Celia Sears, Joe Cortez (Flora), Mary Sloan, Francisco Cortez (Laurel), Ricardo Cortez (Marlene) and Alfredo Moron (Dora); and her pets, Ponchito and Cholita. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church (1201 Missouri St, Grandview, WA 98930).
