It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances J Smith of Yakima, Washington, born in Fort Riley, Kansas, who passed away on August 10, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her birth parents, David and Frieda Katz; and her cousins, Jerry Beatty Jr., Frank and Joyce Graham.
She is survived by: her husband C. Benson Smith of Yakima; and her grandchildren, Joshua Smith of Yakima, John Smith of Amarillo, Lisa A. Ray of Jacksonville and Robin Bryant of Ft. Worth. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Yakima Symphony, or the Yakima Arboretum may be sent in care of Shaw & Sons Funeral Home (201 N. 2nd Street, Yakima, WA 98901), who is caring for the family.
