He was predeceased by: his brother Gail Byers; and his nephew Sean Byers. He is survived by: his children, Howard and Lucille Byers; his siblings, Jean Tweedie (Archie) of Port Townsend, Joyce Hill of Yakima, Gale Byers of Warden and Gerald Byers (Carri) of Yakima; his daughters, Sheryl and Jennifer; and his siblings' children, Naomi Mahn (David) of McMinnville, Chereé Dennison (Ryan) of Yakima, Keli Byers Morey (Jake) of Elkridge and Kevin Byers (Rebecca) of Seattle.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to Othello Fire Department (Adams County Fire District #5), or your local fire department, can be sent in care of Brookside Funeral Home (PO Box 1267, Moxee, WA 98936), who is caring for the family.
