“When Joan lived in Champaign, we were backyard neighbors. I got to meet her mom and dad and Tom and his family and had loads of fun with Sammy. Joan was one of the most interesting persons that I have met. I know Joan is at rest now, no pain or worries. I have memories. Shared vegetables from the garden (Jerusalem squash?) hot fudge sundaes and great stories. I couldn't understand why Joan didn't answer my e-mails. My sincere sympathies. I will miss my good friend, but I have the memories.”
