It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mathew Thompson of Yakima, Washington, who passed away on January 5, 2026, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Thompson and Pat Thompson; and his siblings, Debbie Lee (Dwaine) and Nathan Thompson. He is survived by: his siblings, Dave Thompson (Maudjean) and Valerie Nuttal (Joe); and his grandchildren, Kelly Thompson of Los Angeles, Hayley, Jim Mesplie, Whitney, Michael Thompson Maret (Fiona), Tayler and Mika Parmley.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to further children's art education in the communities of his grandchildren: Mid-Columbia Children's Museum, Yakima Warehouse Theater, Carnegie Picture Lab.
