He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Cockrum and Florence Cockrum (Thisius); his siblings, Verna, Velma, Lola Mae, Peggy, Joleen, Joseph, Bernard and Darrell; his grandson Brian Carter; and his stepdaughter Terri Schaaf.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Hitchcock and Bob Cockrum Jr.; his stepchildren, Joni Lloyd, Julie Chapman, Tony Carter and Randy Carter; his brother Larry Cockrum; and also, Pat Cockrum and Darlene Cockrum. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
