It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary E. Stendel of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 6, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gary E. Stendel to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his father Christian Stendel; his stepmother Helen Stendel; his mother Frances Sternitzky (Kraus); his stepfathers, George Sternitzky and Henry Schmitt; his wife Carol Stendel; his mother-in-law Mable Kallis; his siblings, Roger Sternitzky, Francis Schmitt, Loretta Stendel and Judith Steinbach; his brothers-in-law, Phil Hendrickson and Harold Stauffacher; and his nephews, Gary "Bo" Stendel, Phillip "Willie" Hendrickson and Aynsley Sternitzky.

He is survived by : his girlfriend Colleen Forde; his children, Terry Stendel, Amy Vieth (Mark) and Mary Stendel; his granddaughters, Samantha Brock and Heather Brock; his great grandchild Harper Rogers; his sisters, Delores O'Brien, Anita Hendrickson, Georgia Sternitzky, Ann Straussburger (Jack) and Gloria Stai; and his siblings-in-law, Linda Sternitzky and Vernon Steinbach. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E Veterans Pkwy, Marshfield, WI 54449). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
