He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Diethman and Lillian Diethman (Volker); his wife Mary; his daughter Christine Hinrichs; his grandson Billy Hinrichs; and his siblings, Kenneth, Elroy, Dolores Garderbrecht and Thomas Callahan (Big Tom).
He is survived by: his sister Mabel Luepke; his children, Edward (Susan) and Dawn Connell (Patrick); and his brother-in-law Jerry Trump. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.
