He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Owen and Rosella Owen; his siblings, Harry, Jim, Jean Christner, Peg Michels and Judy Conrad; his parents-in-law, George and Zatha Ruthe; and his pets, Sparky and Tipper.

He is survived by: his wife Marge; and his sisters-in-law, Georgia Hilber (Earl) of Chippewa Falls and Betty Ruhe of Chippewa Falls. He is also survived by nieces & nephews.
