He was predeceased by : his parents, Paul Prellwitz and Delia Prellwitz (Shoop); his wife Mary Jane; and his sisters, Patricia and Shirley.

He is survived by : his children, Polly Kersten (Dale) and Warren Prellwitz (Cindy); his grandchildren, Kellen, Erik Kersten (Brianna), Cody Prellwitz (Cindy) and Ashley Hoff (Mitch); and his great grandchildren, Ivy Rose and Scotlyn Louise.
