She was predeceased by : her parents, John "Jack" McKinnon and Mildred McKinnon (Herman); her husband Ben Hoerman; her daughter Margaret Viergutz; her sister Jacquelyn Beckman; her grandson Kenneth Robinson (Viergutz); and her uncles, Lee and Robert Herman.

She is survived by : her son Martin Hoerman (Rhonda Witte) of Neillsville; her grandchild Christy Viergutz of Wisconsin Rapids; her son-in-law Richard Viergutz; her siblings-in-law, Phyllis Bula of Antigo, Marie Gesell of Antigo, Geri Hoerman of Antigo, Judy Hoerman, Carl Hoerman, Jr. (Eleanor) of Antigo and Robert Hoerman (Ann) of Antigo; her nephew Patrick Beckman of California; and her nieces, Julie Sims of Nevada and Angela Watson (Steve) of Colorado. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation.
