He was predeceased by : his parents, Mike Kettner and Alice Kettner (Bootz); his son Jesse Kettner (Sarah); his brother Harvey Kettner; his niece Mary Kettner; and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Rhyner, Kay Kettner and Wayne Ullenbrauck.

He is survived by : his former life partner Susanne Weinkauf; his wife Delores M Kettner (Widder); his children, Vicki Bootz (Doug), Elmer Jr. and Velvet Kouba (Michael); his stepson James Widder (Kari); his grandchildren, Dan Bootz, Heather Fenhaus (Jerrel), Tylor Fenhaus (Dani), Shannon Georgeson (Kevin), Merrill, Angela Cypert-Kettner (Mike), Josh Kettner (Cassie), Alicia Laycock and Max Fenhaus (Kate); his great grandchildren, Sophia, Cora and Liam; and his siblings, Lois Smith, Donald Kettner (Shirley), Edward Kettner, Judy Rhyner, Kronenwetter and Darlene Habeck (Paul). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
