He is survived by: his wife Judith Ann (Walton) of Antigo; his former spouses, Cindy Houdek (Dan) of Antigo and Jeffrey Smith (Tammy) of Antigo; his children, Debra Tetting (Christopher) of Antigo, Christine Stanford (Barry) of Antigo and Jerry Smith (Mary) of Eureka Springs, AR; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Lane, Corrin, Cole, Justin, Deric, Stephanie, Crystal, Troy, Shannon, Amanda, Joseph, Maddie and Robert; his brothers, James Smith of Antigo and Richard Smith of Aniwa; and his sister-in-law Viola Hoppe of Janesville. He is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
