He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Gresl and Emily Gresl (Winter); his sister Mary; and his brother-in-law Duwayne Verkuilen. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Feldhahn; his children, Jeffrey Gresl (Sharon), Julie Pahnke (Kevin) and James Gresl; his grandchildren, Brian Gresl (Kirsten), Brandon Gresl, Brittany Bloom (Mitchell) and Lauren Kaiser (Dan); his great grandchild Finn Kaiser; his siblings, Shirley Verkuilen, Doris Gresl, Walter Gresl (Jackie) and Betty Biese (James); and his siblings-in-law, William and Kathleen Ault.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
