She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Ranke and Pearl Ranke Krueger (Schubel); her spouse Dale Carlson; her stepfather Henry Krueger; her brother Gene Ranke (Joyce); her stepbrothers, Leslie Krueger and Edwin Krueger (Ula); her brothers-in-law, Clifford Carlson (Lois) and Marvin Carlson (Esther); her nephew Todd Ranke; and her close friend Walter Kleman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Nancy Norton (Bob) of Jackson, WY, Kathy Villere (Monty) of Denver, CO and Cindy Hawley (Dave) of Appleton, WI; her grandchildren, Alex Norton (April), Kary Norton Wenger (Joel), Justin Villere (Courtney), Aaron Villere (Sarah), Nick Hawley (Brittany) and Brian Hawley; her great grandchildren, Nell, Hank Norton, Forrest, Ruby Norton Wenger, Reese, Griffin Villere, Colin, Sasha Villere, Liam and Camden Hawley; and her brother-in-law Wally Carlson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. James United Methodist Church (100 W Capitol Dr, Appleton, WI 54911). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. She rarely missed an East football or basketball game before COVID.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for several organizations Carol was passionate about helping.
