He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Pieper and Cecilia Pieper (Tomzak); his adoptive parents, Harold Pieper and Adela Pieper; and his brothers, Vernon Pieper and John Pieper.

He is survived by: his sister Barbara Ostendorf (Robert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
