He was predeceased by: his mother Ethel Promer (Gussert); his wife Rachel Promer (Emmerich); his daughter Lora Lynn Promer; his father Robert Sr. Promer; his brothers, Richard Promer (Dick) and Robert Jr. Promer (Bobby); and his in-laws, James, Elva Emmerich, Jean Promer, Rodney Emmerich, Clifford Wagner and Dan Biesterveld.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Kolarik (Glen), Chad Promer (Kelly), Jim Promer (Jenny Tichey) and Lynn Ramel (Mike); his grandchildren, Gabe Promer (Kate), Gavin Kolarik, Nathan Promer, Jake Promer, Madelyn Promer, Luke Promer, Abigail Ramel, Taylor Ramel and Lincoln Promer; his sisters, Marlene Tennessen (Gene Kostrazak) and Mary Biesterveld; his in-laws, Arden Emmerich (Donna), Marita Wagner and Gwen Emmerich; and his close friend Sue Reinke.
