She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Schwalbach and Eulalia Schwalbach (Steidl); her grandsons, Kyle Otte and Lance Van Groll; her parents-in-law, Leonard and Susan Opsteen; her siblings, Joseph Schwalbach and Susan Palm; and her siblings-in-law, Thomas Heckner, Raymond Palm, Paul Hietpas, Roger Hietpas, Edwin Schuh, Bernard Schuh, Margaret Hietpas, Patricia Hietpas and Rose Schuh.
She is survived by: her siblings, Marianne Heckner and Frank Schwalbach (Peggy); and her siblings-in-law, Mary Schwalbach, Nancy Schuh and Donald Opsteen (Linda).
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established on Ellen's behalf in the name of the St. Elizabeth Auxiliary.
