He was predeceased by: his grandmother Bogan; his close friend Craig Ryan; and his cousin Tom Freimuth. He is survived by: his parents, James Piette and Jean Piette (Bogan); his children, Kayla Piette (Jaron Dickson) and Ethan Hauschildt (Cassie Backus); his fiancé Lara Holtger; his partner's children, Brandon, Austyn and Mitchell Maynard; his sister Carrie Kissel (Steve); his niece Emily Kissel (Tristan Tucker); Anita Hartman. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
