Gretchen Lageson Whitcomb Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gretchen Lageson Whitcomb (Appleton, Wisconsin), who passed away on December 21, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Gretchen leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Gretchen may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Benedict Lageson and Meta Lageson (Warnecke); her husband Robert Thom Whitcomb; and her son Steven Whitcomb. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Whitcomb and Scott Luxor (Alexis); her daughter-in-law Anh Whitcomb; and her grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
