With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Sylvester Popke of Appleton, Wisconsin, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on July 9, 2024 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Popke and Helen Popke (Linsner); and his brother Carl Popke. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Popke of Appleton, WI; his sons, Michael Popke (Lisa) of Sun Prairie, WI and John Popke (Justin LaCrosse) of Neenah, WI; his grandchildren, Kayla Popke of DeForest, WI and Tyler Popke of Monona, WI; his sister-in-law Linda Popke of Sarasota, FL; and his sisters, Marion Donner and Sharon Schaefer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made in Jim's name to St. Bernard Catholic Parish in Appleton, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Appleton VFW Post 2778.
