He was predeceased by: his father Charles Strauss Jr.; his sisters, Cindy Ingalls and April Strauss; and his niece Beth Ingalls. He is survived by: his mother Belle W. Strauss; his siblings, Betty Stander (Jed), Chuck Strauss (Sue), Carol Trantow (Chris) and Bruce Strauss (Penny Jane); his son Brian Strauss (Rebecca); his nieces and nephews, David, Jennifer, Angela, Charlie, Matthew, Katie, Jacob and Joshua; his grandchildren, Chris and Heather; and his great grandchildren, Noah and Harper.
