He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Zimmerman and Ruth Zimmerman (Beisser); and his sister Joanne Lake (Tom). He is survived by: his wife JoAnn (Wilson); his children, Tammy Anderson (Scott) of Minneapolis, MN, Mike Zimmerman (Jackie) of Menomonee Falls, WI and Wendy Jahner (David) of Stilwell, KS; his grandchildren, Emma, Megan, Parker, Maya, Drew and Riley; and his siblings, Lois Lind (Marshall) and James Zimmerman (Lisbeth).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Samaritan's Purse or Wounded Warrior Project in John's memory.
