He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Knaack and Gertrude Knaack (Konkel); his significant other Carol Funk; his grandson Dylan Mendez; and his siblings, Waldo Knaack and Charlotte Bohl (Gerald).
He is survived by: his children, Jodi Mendez (Jose) and John Knaack; his grandchildren, Ashley Martinez (Fabian), Wendy Thiel (Nick), Cody Mendez (Lauren), Caitlyn, Brianna and Austin Knaack; his great grandchildren, Milani, Brayden and Harper; his siblings, Marva Uhlenbrauck (Ken), Jordan Knaack and Brenda Roberts (Bill); his children, Trisha Zander (Ritchie), Brad Funk and Chad Funk (Heather); and his grandchildren, Jacob Zander, Josh Zander (Simran) and Kirsten Funk (Mason). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N Superior St, Appleton, WI 54911). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
