He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Hanstedt and Orpha Hanstedt (Ole); his wife Joyce Coley; his son Tom Hanstedt; and his siblings, Al Hanstedt and Lois Bressers.
He is survived by: his children, Sue Furstenberg (Dave) of Waupaca, Barb Hanstedt (Shelly) of Wichita, KS, Bill Hanstedt (Pam) of Appleton and Peggy Schneider (Garth) of Lake Geneva; his grandchildren, Erich Furstenberg (Katy), Meghan Furstenberg-Knauff (Kyle), Alaina, Brady, Drew Hanstedt, Kathleen Schneider, Claire Camut (Sam) and Tom Schneider; and his great grandchildren, Eloise and Benjamin Knauff. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
