He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Maas and Lucille Maas (Bennett); his son Jim Maas; his siblings, Linda Lou Maas, Larry Maas and Jerry Maas; his parents-in-law, Donald Piette Sr. and Fern Piette; and his siblings-in-law, Marilyn Piette (Cheryl Piette), Donald Piette Jr., Skip Piette, Raymond Piette, Mike Piette, Marvin Meyer and David Deeg Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Carole Maas (Piette); his children, Brenda Maas Nowland and Stacy Hadler (Nathan); his grandchildren, Amanda Nowland, Ian Nowland, Justin Hadler and Cheyenne Maas; his great grandchildren, Madeline Zimmerman, Malachi Espinosa, Lillian Espinosa, Thomas Nowland and Raven Nowland; his brothers, Jack Maas (Mary) and Jim Maas (Nancy); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Maas, Joyce Meyer, Katie Deeg, Dottie Piette, Vicky Piette and Allan Piette. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, along with countless special friends.
