He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Kersten and Freida Kersten (Behnke); his siblings, Gary Kersten, Audrey Schultz (Melvin), Jeanine Schmaling (Milo) and Joan Schumacher (Bob); and his parents-in-law, Dean and Lavona Rudolph.
He is survived by: his wife Marian Kersten; his children, Dean Kersten (Matthew Gray) and Christine LaBudde (Dan); his grandchildren, Whitney Schmitz (Brady) and Victoria Martin (Kyler); his great grandchild Myles Martin; his brother Glen Kersten (Dianne); and his sisters-in-law, Ruth Roybal (Frank) and Bonnie Schmaling. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Ellington Town Hall (N3802 WI-76, Hortonville, WI 54944). The military honors will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to support a tree-planting tribute in Les's honor.
