He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo Wettstein and Ottilia Wettstein (Meyer); his wife Beverly Jean Stumpf (Lawrence) of John's Church; his siblings, Gerald, Donna and Peggy; and his sister-in-law Sandy.

He is survived by: his children, Jeff (Lisa), Brian (Jeff), Chris (Christie), Eric, Amy (Greg Kroncke) and Wayne Writley (Debbie); his grandchildren, Jordan, Zachary, Eli, Hanna, Alex, Grace and Nicole; his pets, Addie, Larry, Ayln, Loki and Toby; and his siblings, Barb (Rick) and Neil.
