He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlyn Dequaine and Eda Dequaine; his stepmother Bev; his sisters, Lori Williams and Cecil Rigolet; his father-in-law Dallas Heuer; and his nephews, Matt Garbe and Shane Heuer.

He is survived by: his daughter Stacy; his wife Debra Heuer; his son Curtis Dequaine (Crystal); his grandchildren, Sienna, Adilynn and Weston Dequaine; his great grandchildren, Marlee and Isla; his siblings, Bonnie Wright, Julie Vetter, Craig and Scott Dequaine; his mother-in-law Viona Heuer; and his brothers-in-law, Steve Heuer (Charlotte) and Jeff Heuer (Rhonda). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
