He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Schimmelpfennig and Mabel Schimmelpfennig (Hoffman); his wife Marion; his siblings, Norman Schimmelpfenning (Lorraine), Earl Schimmelpfenning (Dona) and Doris Handler (Raymond); his brother-in-law Ray Hertzfeld; his in-laws, Clement and Ceil Nabbefeld; and his grandson Jason Fisher.

He is survived by: his children, Dawn Fisher (Rod Maccoux), Jerry Schimmelpfenning (Barbara) and Ron Schimmelpfenning (Mary); his grandchildren, Aaron Fisher, Ben Schimmelpfenning (Melissa) and Rachel Schimmelpfenning; his great grandchildren, Braydon, Kaleb, Anna, Dylan and Wyatt; and his sister Ruth Ziegler. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

He would refurbish computers from people that no longer wanted them and then donate the refurbished system to families/kids that needed a computer.
