He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Gilbert, Ruth Young, Norman and Mary Van Heuklon; his niece Amelia Lance; his cousin Ashley Van Heuklon; his pet Huvu; and his brothers, Brian P. Prening, LCpl Daniel R. Wyatt, LCpl Travis M. Wichlacz, LCpl Richard D. Warner and Brent T. Vroman.
He is survived by: his parents, Gilbert Young and Nancy Young (Van Heuklon); his wife Rachael Witt; his children, Owen Young, Trystan Witt, David Young and Mekenzie Young; his parents-in-law, Bill and Marlene Witt; his sisters, Sarah Anjum (Uwaymir), Michelle "Ellie" Lance (Kevin) and Elizabeth "Missy" Miller (Michael); his siblings' children, Ibraheem, Rahma (Carter), Ahmad, Safa, Isa, Connor and Miles; his great-niece Hanaan; and his pets, Trooper, Meow and Emmy. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and friends.
