He was predeceased by: his parents, George Braatz and June Braatz (Tinsman); and his brothers, James and Michael Braatz. He is survived by: his wife Judy Braatz (Borremans); his children, Richard Braatz Jr. (Constance) and Joanne Spoehr (Jeff); his grandchildren, Tara Braatz (Matt Reyes), Alex Braatz (Jisue), Garrett Braatz (Cassidi), Robin Larson (Eric) and Michael Spoehr (Missy); his great grandchildren, Carson Spoehr, Sadie Spoehr, Hannah Braatz, Adeline Spoehr and Liam Braatz; and his siblings, Mary, Karen, Gayle, Linda and Gary.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church (1617 W Pine St, Appleton, WI 54914). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Richard's name to Brewster Village, 3300 W. Brewster Street, Appleton, WI 54914.
