He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert E. Hinds and Patricia Hinds (Hall). He is survived by : his spouse JeanMarie Schmeichel; his son Chris Hinds; his brother Tim Hinds; his brothers-in-law, Steve Schmeichel (Lynn) and Jeff Schmeichel (Martha); and his godson Matthew Schmeichel Jr.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends and neighbors.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 5th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at the First English Lutheran Church-North Side (6331 N Ballard Rd, Appleton, WI 54913).
