He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Nowak and Elizabeth Nowak (Herres); his former wife Germaine; his wife Eleanore Van Berkel; his siblings, Leona Watson (Jack), Bernadine Natrop (Gordy), Lucille Luedtke (Jerry), Sylvia Nichols (Jim) and Frank C. Nowak (Marilyn); and his siblings-in-law, Charles Heimmermann, Adeline Schalk (Jerry), Kenneth Ziebell (Judi) and Patricia Ziebell.
He is survived by: his son James Nowak; his daughter-in-law Teresa of Roanoke, VA; his grandson Benjamin Nowak (Katharine) of Glen Allen, VA.; his siblings, Marilyn Heimmermann of Roswell, NM and Stan Nowak (Betty) of Florence, WI; and his brothers-in-law, Larry Ziebell (Patti) of Embarrass, WI and Larry Fryfogle (Lynn) of Appleton, WI. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to ThedaCare Family of Foundations in support of cancer care (formerly the Martha Siekman Cancer Center, Appleton) are appreciated.
