He is survived by: his mother Eleanore Niemi (Heikkila); his significant other Jana Niemi (Tasson); his children, Chanler Niemi Hochman (Taylor Hochman) and Chase Niemi (Arabelle Green); his siblings, Jean Niemi Werth, Greg Niemi (Kris), Donna Wetts, Jason Niemi (Michelle) and Kurtis Niemi; his in-laws, Steve Tasson (Sheri), Kevin Tasson, Craig Tasson (Patty), Dara Flink (Gene), Jason Tasson (Lacey), Deb Niemi and Pete LaPin; his pet Dexter; his parents-in-law, Jim and Fay Tasson; his siblings, Sonia Lapin and Jack Niemi Sr.; and his siblings-in-law, Michael Werth and Amy Tasson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Valley Funeral Home (2211 N Richmond St, Appleton, WI 54911). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 5:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Steve's name and will be directed to children in need.
