He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Roocks and Ruth Roocks (Lemke); his wife LaVerne B. Mech; his siblings, Marilyn Lehrer (Daniel) and David Roocks; and his siblings-in-law, James Mech (Darlene) and Jean Gruetzmacher (Roy).
He is survived by: his children, Ann Joosten (William), Paul Roocks, Laurie Muller (Harry) and Rod Gehrt (Wende); his grandsons, Eric Joosten (Roxy), Mike Gehrt (Meagan Beavers) and Matt Gehrt; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia, Monte and Audrey; his sister Gretchen Mish (Michael); and his sisters-in-law, Sally Roocks, Lois Borchardt, Sandra Mech and Susan Carlson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
