He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schaefer and Eunice Schaefer (Noack); his wife Dianne Schaefer (Green Bay); his granddaughter Dahlia Chapin; his grandparents, Fred, Ruth Noack, John and Mary Schaefer; his nephew Brian Schaefer; his siblings-in-law, Charlotte Schaefer, Gary Alberts and Rick McDonald; his parents-in-law, Wally and Delilah McDonald (Vollmer); his friends, Steve McCormick, Stanley Cook and Kevin Kempen; and his pet Noah.
He is survived by: his daughter Erika Schaefer; his sons-in-law, Bryan Zilisch, Erin Chapin and Ashley Donohue (Shaun); his grandchildren, Paul Chapin, Ariel Chapin, Savannah Donohue, Shaylene Donohue and Michael Donohue; his siblings, Walter Jr. Schaefer (Della) of California, Doug Schaefer, Sandra Wuest (Hank), Debbie Johnson (Jeff) and Terrie Sims (David); his nieces and nephews, David Schaefer, Stephanie Morocco, Shawn Schaefer, Tamara Suarez, Jerad Rohe, Justin Rohe, Briant Bierhals and Amber Mott; and his in-laws, Mike, Cindy Gillis, Lori, David Hamberger, Kevin, Linda McDonald, Michelle, Todd Cullen and Raylene McDonald.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Eternal Love Lutheran Church (1011 Midway Rd, Appleton, WI 54915). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for Tom.
