Paul Mattern wrote a sympathy message

“I had Mr. Sense in a couple of my Social Studies classes at MHS between 75 and 77. He was a great teacher and a better man. I remember when he first joined my Dad and some other MHS teachers (and Dad's fellow choir members at St. John's) for a retreat on Chamber's Island. My Dad had never met him before, but on his return he commented to me how nice Bill was and that he was especially kind in his remarks about me as one of his students. A genuinely nice man who will be sorely missed. RIP.”
