She was predeceased by: her parents, August Ruff and Milda Ruff (Peterson); her husband Benedict Shepherd; her son Norman; her brother Harlen Ruff; her sons-in-law, Gary Waters and Bill Sokup; and her great grandchild Everleigh Axness.

She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Waters of Arcadia, Beverly Pronschinske (Ivan) of Arcadia, Allen Shepherd (Dawn) of Arcadia and Audrey Axness of Arcadia; her grandchildren, Doug, Mike Sokup, Lance, Amber Pronschinske, Bob (Brandi), Tony (Cynthia), Travis Shepherd (Barbara), Josh and Nick Axness (Kaylee); her great grandchildren, Christa Weisenberger (Dwight), Ryan, William, Dayton Sokup, Treyton, Micah and Emmitt Axness; her great great grandchildren, Beau and Adalynn Lorraine Weisenberger; and her son-in-law Charles Axness. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
