He was predeceased by: his parents, John I. Ryan and Matilda Ryan (Martin); his wife Julia Batchelder; his sons, Steven M. (Carolyn) and Joseph M.; his great grandchild Ian Nguyen; and his siblings, Robert, Henry, Mary Gilbert, Loretta Borck, Josephine McLain, Dorothy Danzinger and Agnes Fox.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy M. Gehrke (John) of Sterling, IL, John C. (Audrey "Susie") of Maiden Rock, Mary L. Congdon (Steve) of Woodruff, Jerold F. "Jerry" (Rob) of Chicago, IL and Connie J. Klatt (Terry) of Eau Claire; and his brothers-in-law, Marlyn "Ike" Hovind and Lowell Mattila. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, four step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
