He was predeceased by: his parents, David Bender and Mabel Bender (Broihier); his sister Mae; his brother-in-law Marv Hemp; his sister Elaine "Johnny"; his brother-in-law Ralph Dorow; his sister June; his brothers-in-law, Hilmer "Bud" Dudei and Gordon Meddaugh; his stepson Richard Carolfi; and his great grandchild Zaidyn Bender.
He is survived by: his children, David Bender of Granton, WI, Debbie Schillinger (Korey) of Stratford, WI, Darrell Bender (Kim) of Marshfield, WI, Donna Maurer (Franz) of Greenville, WI and Holly Reckner (Shawn) of Marshfield, WI.; his wife Beverly Bender; and his sister Lorraine "Topsy" Meddaugh (Bender). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations in memory of Dave to be payable to the Granton FFA or the Wisconsin Geological Society.
