Mary touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. While Mary’s presence will be missed, the influence she had on others will remain. Those who knew her will carry forward memories that reflect her character and spirit.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Erwin C. Smith and Mary M. Smith (Borosich); and her sister Audrey Jarecki. She is survived by: her nephew William Jarecki (Cheriee); her nieces, Kathleen Zifko (Dale) and Diane Gillikin (Ken); and her brother-in-law Walter Jarecki.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Mary's Catholic Church (69529 Old Odanah Rd, Ashland, WI 54806). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mary's Church and Our Lady of the Lake Church and School.
