He was predeceased by : his parents, Johannes Koopman (Jon) and Anna Koopman (Stratsma); his wife Janet; his children, Shirley Kay and George Herman; his children-in-law, Shirley, David King and Roger Frischman, Sr.; and his sisters, Tillie Koopman of Lakeview, SD, Marjorie Sterken of Elkhorn, WI and Tillie Kundert of Lake Geneva, WI..

He is survived by : his children, Glenn (Judy), Robert (Linda), Roy (Betty), Connie, Carol Pryne (Harley), Dorothy VanStedum (Kenneth), Joseph (Darlene), Kathy Boyer (Dixie), Kimberlee Chaltry and Caralee Jicinsky (Mark). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great, and great-great grandchildren.
