He is survived by: his wife Anke Vier; his daughters, Jennifer Vier Freeman (Brian White) and Barbara Vier Laughnan (Jack); his grandchildren, Vincent, Dominic and Reya; and his siblings, Linda Fenton (Tom), Lori Dutcher (Ted), Karen Diamond (Bruce), Kay Anderson (David) and Douglas Vier (Linda). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
