He is survived by: his wife Carol McKinley; his children, Chris McKinley (Bonnie), Thomas McKinley, Kristina McKinley and Gunilla McKinley; his stepchildren, Del Hansen (Gail) and Danielle Anderson (Chad); his grandchildren, Chloe, Bella and Kieran; his stepgrandchildren, Evelyn, Bridget and Archer; and his friends, Dan Drew, Rick Carpenter, Steven Allen, Bob and Mary Miller.
Over the years, he contributed to the development and financing of more than thirty senior housing cooperatives and was honored with the Founder Award from the Senior Cooperative Foundation in 2018.
