He was predeceased by : his parents, LeRoy and Vernice (Wallsch); his sister Carolyn Hanley; his brother-in-law John Montanye; his mother-in-law Belva Montanye; his nephew David Montanye; and his niece Belva Montanye.

He is survived by : his wife Kathy (Montanye); his children, Michelle Dees (Tom), Brian (Mary), Mark, Brent (Stacy Sanner Davee) and Melissa Becker (Brad); his grandchildren, Lacey Goerks, Garett Goerks, Gavin Goerks and Micah Becker; and his nieces and nephews, Vicky Reppen (A. J.), Rhonda Freitag (Paul), Therese Bonanno, Roxanne Green, Shawn Newman and Mike Montanye (Carol).
