He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Slager and Frieda Slager (Kuiper); his grandparents, Richard, Jennie Slager (Medema), Fred and Emma Kuiper (Kikkert); his brother Dewey Slager; his sister-in-law Dorothy Slager; and his nephew Ben Kooiman.

He is survived by: his wife Carrie Steen of Waupun; his stepchildren, Jayme Roll (Jessica), Jeremy Roll (Jody) and Jennilyn Chaplin (Lamarr); his grandchildren, Harper, Emme Roll, Ayden, Alexis, Austin, Wyatt Yerges, Kytalin, Levi Roll, Charles, Elijah and Ellamae Chaplin; his siblings, Don Slager (Marty) of Beaver Dam, Dick Slager (Sherri) of Beaver Dam, Evonne Kooiman (Dave) of Waupun and Daniel Slager of Waupun; his sister-in-law Deb Slager of Beaver Dam; his uncle Denis; and his aunts, Nancy Hampton, Donna Koppa and Betty Kuiper. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
