She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Welker and Mary Welker (Buechner); her husband Francis Charles Hankes; her sons, Lawrence and Charles Hankes; and her siblings, Leo, Leonard, Jerome Welker, Isabelle Knauft, Bernice Epping, Eleanor Cline and Rita Ensminger.
She is survived by: her children, Stephan Hankes (Mary), Gregory Hankes (Mary) and Cheryl Condon (Joe); and her sister Mary Ann Babich of Mundelein, Illinois. She is also survived by grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and at 10:30 AM at the St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church-Beaver Dam (511 S Spring St, Beaver Dam, WI 53916). A Mass was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at the Cemetery St. Peter Cemetery-Beaver Dam.
